Four top smoky mountains river rafting adventures



The Smoky Mountains area presents one of the best Gatlinburg attractions for unending rafting adventures. The best place to get this is on the Pigeon River course. The experiences vary and depend on whether you are a beginner or a thrill seeking expert. There is an adventure for everyone including children. Here is an overview of the top four adventures on Pigeon River.

1.       Lower Pigeon River rafting

This is the ultimate family rafting adventure styled to cater even for a three year old kid. It is the gentlest course, but still has enough rapids to meet the excitement of going rafting. Children aged three to seven get to raft for free with any paid adventure.

2.       Upper Pigeon River rafting

The physical demand of this course means that you will need to be at least eight years old. It allows you to mix the richness of nature’s beauty in the Cherokee forest and the Smoky Mountains with five miles of class III-IV rapids and fast flowing water. The trip lasts between one and a half to two hours.

3.       Extreme Pigeon River Rafting

This takes the best of upper Pigeon River rafting and adds a sporting feel to it by introducing racing over the five mile course with all the rapids and bends. You get to have the best of everything in this set up in a boat that holds four rafters and one guide.

4.       Daycation adventure

This is ideal when you have the time to spare and want a full rafting experience. It starts from the upper Pigeon River part and takes you to the lower side with a break in between. It is a mixed combo that allows you to have the best of everything and get home relaxed.
